ABOUT US
Norton Baptist Church first met as a small group of believers in December of 1940. The past 80 plus years have brought a lot of changes, however, Jesus Christ remains the same yesterday, today, and forever. He is still the Way, the Truth and the Life, and the gospel is still true, that no one comes to the Father except through Jesus.
His call to His church is first to worship Him in spirit and in truth. We believe true worship of our Lord results in transformation of the individual into more Chirst likeness. Our worship services are designed from Scripture, where we sing, pray, read, and preach the Word. We believe God's primary means of sending forth His Word is through preaching, and specifically we believe in expository preaching, which means explaining a text of Scripture in context and bringing out the truths that should impact our lives for God's glory.

BASIC BELIEFS
THE BIBLE
We believe that "All scripture is given by inspiration of God," and because of this the Bible is the very Word of God. We believe in verbal, plenary inspiration, which means that God not only inspired the message, but also the words that men wrote. We believe the Bible is sufficient to give us all things necessary to live a life of godliness.
THE CHURCH
We believe that all who are united to the risen and ascended Son of God are members of the Church which is the Body and Bride of Christ -- regardless of membership or non-membership in any organized church. All Christians are under solemn duty to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace, loving one another with a pure heart fervently.
THE GODHEAD
We believe that the Godhead eternally exists in three Persons - the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and these three are one God.
THE ORDINANCES
We believe that the ordinances of the church are Baptism (by immersion) and the Lord's Supper.
SALVATION
We believe that mankind is dead in his trespasses and sin, and only God through the work of the Holy Spirit can awaken anyone to new life. This is made possible only through the work of Jesus Christ as planned out by the Father. The regenerated individual is a new creation in Christ Jesus created for good works. While man absolutely gains eternal life through this salvation, the ultimate goal of salvation is for the praise of God's glorious grace.
ETERNAL STATE
We believe that at death, those in Christ go immediately into the presence of God. We also believe that those outside of Christ at death go immediately into hell, consciously in torment, separated from God for eternity.
